A conscious choice

Raising a puppy with passion and seriousness requires experience and knowledge of the breed.

Today, thanks to the Internet, everyone can become better informed about the attitudes, characteristics and needs of this magnificent breed.

Despite this still many people do little information before taking this step and set off in search of the best-priced puppy, without being remotely clear about the important factors that make the real difference on price.

A puppy will become your life companion for several years And it's important not to buy "sight unseen"

Contact multiple breeders and make an appointment to see the parents (at least the mother) and check the hygienic conditions of the kennel and how the puppies are raised.

F.A.Q

Here is an answer to the most common questions we are asked
Why aren't our puppies given away until they are three months old when, according to the law, they can be given away as early as 60 days old?

In the first three months, important life skills are acquired, imparted firstly from mom (but also from dad if present).

In addition, puppies go through an important stage, that of socialization, where direct contact with little siblings, adult dogs and animals of other species is an indispensable element so that, as they grow up, they can relate to everyone in a balanced way.

Can the puppy be taken outside right away?

Our puppies are sold complete with three vaccinations, therefore, it is possible to let him out from the first day of arrival in the new home.

How to deal with needs management?

The use of toilet mats is certainly a great convenience, especially for those who do not have a garden.

It is advisable, however, to accustom the puppy from his first arrival to doing his business outside, rewarding him with cuddles or even some treats when he gets free in the place we want him.

It would be appropriate to take him out as soon as he wakes up, after meals and immediately after playtime. In fact, these are the circumstances in which he feels the urge to relieve himself the most.

In general the rule applies that, at least for the first few times, the more you take him out, the better.

Is it essential to cover it in winter when going out?

If the temperature is really low, and we are outside for a long time, we better protect our dog with a coat.

Remember that the poodle, having no undercoat, is more sensitive to low temperatures and temperature fluctuations.

How often should it be washed and brushed?

Poodle hair has a structure very similar to that of human hair, it can be safely washed even every week/10 days if necessary.

Use a mild shampoo and a good conditioner to help with grooming.

Constant weekly brushing, using a carder and comb, should be enough to ward off annoying knots.

How many meals should be fed to the puppy?

At the age of three months and at least until six months, three daily meals should be offered.

From the 6th month onward, you can switch to two daily meals, which should be maintained for the rest of life. Providing only one meal a day would promote the onset of gastritis!

Once he arrives home what type of food is best to feed the puppy?

In the starter-kit provided by us, there is a package of the same feed used in breeding.

These are premium-quality kibble, providing the puppy, in the few grams provided per meal, with all the nutrients it needs during this delicate period of growth.

It is advisable, should you decide to change the brand or even type of feed, to do so gradually, increasing the dose of the new feed little by little each day until it is completely replaced, which should be done within a week.

It should be remembered that should the decision be made to feed home-prepared food, it should contain all the important elements the puppy needs, supplementing it with the appropriate supplements and carefully balancing the ratio of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins.

What does the Biosensor program consist of?

First used by the U.S. military to improve the evolution of dogs used for strategic and military purposes, it consists of newborn sensory stimulation.

Puppies, from the third to the sixteenth day of life, are subjected through simple exercises to small stresses, such as thermal, tactile and movement stimuli, aimed at stimulating the endocrine system, adrenal glands and pituitary gland.

Studies on the subject show that puppies will be more resistant to cold and some diseases in adulthood, mature faster, be better able to solve some problems, have a better heart rate, stronger adrenal glands, and demonstrate more stress tolerance.
